Best Treadmill for Home, Expert Advice to Choose

Hi everyone,

I’d appreciate some expert advice on choosing best treadmill for home use.

I’ve been using a very basic walking pad for the past 5 years. It has no incline/decline or advanced features, and the maximum speed is only around 6 km/h. I’m now ready to upgrade to a proper treadmill that can serve me well for the next 10 years.

What I’m looking for:

  • Suitable for home/apartment use
  • Quiet enough not to disturb neighbors in the building
  • High quality and durable for long-term use
  • Incline, and ideally decline if possible
  • Close to professional/gym quality, but still practical for home
  • Good value for the price, not just expensive for the brand name
I’d love to hear recommendations from people with experience using or servicing treadmills. Which models or brands would you suggest, and what should I avoid?

Thanks in advance!

Isn't their a walking pad with incline?
Yeah, there are walking pads with incline now, but they’re not really in the same league as a proper treadmill.

Most of them either have a small fixed incline or a basic adjustable one, but they’re still built for walking + light use, not real incline training or running. Once you start using them regularly, you usually notice limits in stability, cushioning, and motor strength.

There are a few newer ones like the Umay / Akluer / AKLUER-style models that go up to ~10–20% incline, but they’re still mainly designed for walking + light jogging, not proper running workouts.

So short answer: yes, incline walking pads exist now and can be a great gateway into regular training at home—but if someone is serious about incline training + durability, a real treadmill is still the better option.

Can I buy a treadmill in installments without a monthly subscription?
